Free Artist Talk at UCF Center for Emerging Media
Posted on in Events
This Tuesday, 10/13/15, 7PM at UCF Center for Emerging Media
Are you interested in the creative potential of animated GIFs, motion graphics, interactive installations, video shorts, and other forms of moving images? At this lecture, local artist Michael Forrest and I will be sharing our passion for this form of art with a diverse group of students and faculty from the SVAD areas of Digital Media, Film and Studio Art.
Earlier this year, Forrest and I curated and organized the first ever BYOB (Bring Your Own Beamer) Orlando, a one night gallery exhibition featuring explosions of light and movement by local and world renowned digital artists, designers and filmmakers. The gallery space was filled with computers, DVD players, projectors, and light – every surface became a canvas and the space was transformed despite having nothing hanging on the walls.
Come join us Tuesday night if you’re in Orlando!
Michael Forrest (michaelstevenforrest.com) is a designer currently working as Art Director for Wakeboarding Magazine. Nathan Selikoff (nathanselikoff.com) is an artist and UCF alumnus, and recently won a Best of Orlando award, “Best Young Artist Putting Orlando On The Map.”
