Box Kites

Sculpture. 2011.

The images from my Faces of Chaos series, though mathematically generated, contain forms and shapes that look remarkably like the brush strokes of Eastern calligraphers.

Emphasizing this connection through the use of Japanese rice paper and the traditional form of the box kite, these delicate hanging sculptures bring together my love for calligraphy, kites, and math.
