Moleskine Inkjet Transfer for a Private Commission

Posted on in Uncategorized

A friend of mine commissioned me to create some artwork for the cover of his fresh new Moleskine sketchpad. I’ve been playing with direct visualization of audio lately, so I decided to create something along those lines. I also wanted to incorporate some sense of encoding, as my friend is a bit of a security nerd. So I wrote a quick Processing sketch to record me saying his name and draw the wave forms across and down the image (back cover = first name, front cover = last name). I printed out the resulting PDF file onto wax paper on my inkjet printer, and transferred it to the cover. This technique is new to me but I loved the results and will definitely use it again!
